Telemus Chief Investment Officer Matt Dmytryszyn, CFA recently hosted an important webinar to discuss key events affecting bond markets and provide the context you need to make the right decisions for your financial future. Matt was joined by Lyle Fitterer, CFA (Managing Director, Baird Asset Management) and John R. Queen (Portfolio Manager, Capital Group); Lyle and John updated viewers on the latest developments in the bond market and explain what investors should look for going forward. Specifically, they discussed:

  • What they have learned from past rising rate environments
  • How they are managing portfolios in a period of increased uncertainty
  • The opportunities they are seeing in today’s bond market
  • How evolving supply/demand dynamics in the bond market could impact future opportunities
ABOUT THE PRESENTER —Matt Dmytryszyn, CFA

Matt Dmytryszyn, CFA is the Chief Investment Officer at Telemus, where he helps develop the investment strategy for the firm and spearheads the research of traditional investment managers and funds. Matt also supports the firm’s asset allocation effort along with researching alternative investment strategies. Prior to joining Telemus, Matt was a Principal with LaSalle Street Capital Management, LLC, where he was involved in equity research and portfolio management for the firm’s large and small cap portfolios. Prior to that, he was a Senior Research Analyst with Russell Investments where he was responsible for manager research on Large Cap Market Oriented managers as well as served as the Chairman of the Direct Investing Research Team. Matt has been published in an Institutional Investor journal as well as quoted in Barron’s and Money Magazine.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER —Lyle Fitterer, CFA
Lyle Fitterer, CFA has 33 years of experience managing fixed income portfolios, with a primary focus on the municipal market. As Managing Director of Baird Asset Management, he plays a lead role in the formulation and implementation of investment strategy with a major portion of his time allocated to municipal portfolio management and credit research. Lyle obtained his undergraduate degree in Accounting from the University of North Dakota. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 1996 and is currently a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Milwaukee. Prior to joining Baird Advisors, Lyle served as the co-head of Global Fixed Income and the head of the Municipal Fixed Income team at Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM).

ABOUT THE PRESENTER —John R. Queen, CFA
John R. Queen, CFA is a fixed income portfolio manager at Capital Group, where he also serves on the Portfolio Solutions Committee. He has 32 years of investment experience and has been with Capital Group for 20 years. Earlier in his career at Capital, John was a trader and dealer service representative. Prior to joining Capital, he was chief operating officer and chief compliance officer, as well as managing director overseeing bond portfolios at Roxbury Capital Management, an affiliate of Wilmington Trust. Before that, he was managing director at Hotchkis and Wiley. John holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial management from Purdue University and attended the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he majored in mechanical engineering. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. John is based in Los Angeles.
