Telemus is pleased to announce Chief Operating Officer Matt Ran has been admitted as the firm’s 6th Partner. A forward-thinking, hardworking and trusted member of the Telemus team, Matt has held countless roles over the last 12 years including intern, wealth analyst, investment analyst, chief marketing officer, director of growth and development, and chief operating officer. He became COO in May in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and was named Partner in September.

“Matt has taken it upon himself to develop the skillset necessary to lead Telemus into the future,” says CEO Gary Ran. “His recent promotion to COO is an acknowledgement of his passion and commitment to our firm and the industry. His admission as Partner is further evidence of his growing presence inside and outside the company and we’re proud to call him a Partner.”

Matt is Ran’s eldest son and a graduate of Wayne State University with a B.A. in Economics. He earned an M.B.A from the Jack Welch Management Institute. He officially joined the Telemus team in 2008, but says the firm is part of his life.

“I’ve been in and out of the office my whole life,” Matt says. “I’m excited about this new role. It’s an honor to carry my father’s vision into the future as we continue to expand and grow.”

Senior Financial Life Advisor, Lyle Wolberg, one of the firm’s founding partners, says Matt’s in-depth knowledge of the inner workings of the company and what makes Telemus special uniquely positions him to help lead the firm into the future.

“We are excited to see where his vision will take us,” Wolberg said. “As a partner, Matt will bring his energy and new perspectives to the ownership group and will make Telemus an even better firm for our employees, and most importantly, our clients.”

Outside of work, Matt is active in the community, serving on the boards of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, where he is co-chair for Detroit’s National Young Leadership Cabinet, Michigan ORT, Detroit Jewish Community Center and Yad Ezra. He and his wife, Jodie, are also busy raising their two young children. Please join us in congratulating Matt on his new role.
