Telemus Director of Growth and Development Matt Ran Honored for Philanthropic/Community Work
The Telemus team is proud to congratulate Director of Growth and Development, Matt Ran, for receiving the Mark Lis Family Young Leadership Award from the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit. The annual award, established in 1993 by Florine Mark and her family, recognizes an established leader in the young adult community who has shown outstanding commitment and achieved remarkable success. Ran was recognized during a ceremony at the Berman Center for Performing Arts in West Bloomfield on May 22.
“Matt leads by inspiring and motivating others. He treats all people as if they are the most important person in the room: everyone is valuable, and everyone’s opinion has meaning,” said Scott Kaufman, CEO of the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit. “Not only was Matt a committed and supportive President of NEXTGen Detroit, he has since remained an active leader and participant with the same enthusiasm and drive to make our community better. The Mark-Lis Family Young Leadership Award is very well-deserved, and I’m excited to see where he goes next.”
Matt currently serves on Federation’s board of governors. In addition, he is the Detroit co-chair of the National Young Leadership Cabinet and national co-chair of Engagement for the National Young Leadership Cabinet for the Jewish Federations of North America. Matt is also vice-president for Michigan ORT and a board member of Yad Ezra, the community’s kosher food pantry. He previously served as president of the NEXTGen Board of Directors from 2016-2017 and was on the executive board for approximately seven years.
“Being able to see firsthand where the dollars we raise are allocated to help people locally and internationally has inspired me to become more and more involved,” Ran says. “I’m also following in the footsteps of my great grandfather who was a dedicated community leader. While I am truly proud to receive the Mark-Lis Family Young leadership award, I know it is a recognition that I’m just getting started. As an emerging leader, I look forward to becoming even more involved in the future.”
Matt has been a member of the Telemus team since 2008. He is a trusted advisor to Telemus clients and spearheads the firm’s marketing and business development efforts including all communications, branding, digital marketing, social media, public relations and events. In addition, Matt supports the Chairman/CEO’s clients’ financial life accounts. He resides in metro Detroit with his wife, Jodie, daughter, Kaia, and high energy Vizsla, Miggy.
