Thanks to COVID-19, the economy has seen its share of ups and downs in recent months. Despite unprecedented efforts by the Federal Reserve, the U.S. GDP contracted nearly 5% in the first quarter, due in part to skyrocketing unemployment claims caused by the pandemic.
On Wednesday, May 6th at 12:30 PM ET, we held a webinar with Edward Kerschner, Chief Portfolio Strategist at Columbia Threadneedle Investments. We discussed the current state of the economy, how we got here, and what we might expect to see next. Specifically, we’ll cover:
- How economic conditions differ from the 2008 Financial Crisis
- The impact of low interest rates on investment portfolios
- Where to look for potential investment opportunities post-pandemic
