Thanks to COVID-19, the economy has seen its share of ups and downs in recent months. Despite unprecedented efforts by the Federal Reserve, the U.S. GDP contracted nearly 5% in the first quarter, due in part to skyrocketing unemployment claims caused by the pandemic.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER — EDWARD KERSCHNER, CFA®
Edward Kerschner is Chief Portfolio Strategist at Columbia Threadneedle Investments. He joined one of the Columbia Threadneedle Investments legacy firms in 2013 as Vice Chairman and in 2015 was named Chief Investment Officer. Mr. Kerschner is responsible for developing investment ideas, investment themes, and asset allocation recommendations for various investment areas within the firm; as well as representing Columbia Threadneedle Investments in the marketplace by attending conferences, holding speaking engagements and promoting investment strategies.
Edward has been a member of the investment industry since 1974. Since 2001, Edward has been an Adjunct Professor of Finance at the New York University Graduate School of Business Administration. He received a B.S. from the New York University School of Engineering and Science and an M.B.A. from the New York University Graduate School of Business Administration. In addition, he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER — MATT DMYTRYSZYN, CFA®
Matt is a Director of Investments at Telemus, where he helps to develop the firm’s investment strategy and spearheads the research of traditional investment managers and funds. Matt also supports the firm’s asset allocation efforts, along with researching alternative investment strategies. Matt has over 18 years of investment experience, including as a Principal with LaSalle Street Capital Management and as a Senior Research Analyst at Russell Investments.
Matt is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and a CFA Charterholder, and he also sits on the Board of Directors of Bridge Communities, a non-profit that provides transitional housing to families.
