Webinar | Georgia Election Results: Market & Tax Implications
Having won control of the White House and the House of Representatives, Democrats needed to win both runoff elections for Georgia’s two Senate seats to consolidate their power in Washington D.C., and they did. A Republican-led Senate would have served as a check on Democrats’ legislative agenda; instead, Democrats are set to control the White House and Congress, paving the way for more ambitious policies. So what does this mean for the market and your taxes?
On January 13th, we held a webinar to discuss the wealth management implications of these election results. Specifically, we covered:
- Why we could see a major philosophical shift in the taxation of wealth
- Why wealth accumulation and wealth transfer look to be major targets for new tax laws
- How the election results could cause a shift in the assets and sectors favored by the market
- Why your tax sensitivity needs to play a key role in your investment strategy
